Do I have to stop training while I'm in care?

Not necessarily. Dr. Chuma's approach is designed to keep you as active as possible throughout the process. Where full rest is needed, you'll be given a clear reason and a plan to get back moving. The goal is always to work around your training, not eliminate it.

Is this the same as regular chiropractic care?

It's quite different. Rather than focusing on passive adjustments alone, Dr. Chuma integrates sports chiropractic with progressive rehab and strength and conditioning principles. Every session is one-on-one, and the plan is built around your sport, your history, and your goals, not a generic protocol.

Do you accept insurance?

Surf to Summit is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance directly. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and offer pay-in-full and installment payment options. Superbills are available for patients who want to pursue out-of-network reimbursement on their own.

Can you work with me if I'm not a competitive athlete?

Absolutely. Many people who come to Surf to Summit simply love staying active — whether that's running, hiking, golf, lifting, or staying healthy enough to keep doing what matters to them. You don't need to be competing to benefit from an athlete-centered approach to care.

Do you offer virtual or remote care?

Yes. Dr. Chuma offers fully virtual and hybrid care options for patients who prefer remote support or can't always make it in person. The hybrid model combines in-person sessions with check-in calls, direct messaging, and a dedicated rehab platform — so you stay supported between visits, not just during them.
